A new year, and a new decade.
It's kind of exciting, really.
You'd think that after getting my hours at work cut (it's a seasonal thing), getting sick as a dog, and nearly losing one of my beloved pets that I'd be kinda blue, and maybe even a little pessimistic about the changing of our calendars. However, though I was sick through the holidays, I found that people pay attention despite what I normally think, and that I do truly have a lot to be thankful for--especially when I so nearly lost one of the people I love most.
Things with the family are still complicated, but I have to remind myself that every family has its problems. Money was tight, so Christmas wasn't as elaborate as I would have liked, but who isn't counting pennies these days?
I have my health (sort of--I'm getting better! lol) I have a wonderful family (e.g. love of my life and pets) I have a family who--despite everything--loves me in their own weird way (the rest of my family) I did well in school this semester I have goals for the upcoming year (woo hoo completed manuscript!) I have amazing friends who have the most perfect timing (always coming around when I need them most)
The opportunities are endless.
It's a new year and a new decade. Time to make it count. Gotta grab the bull by the horns and move forward!
I won't let the troubles from the past hold me back anymore. I'm done letting those things dominate me.

In 2010: I'm graduating. I'm going back to Colombia after what will be 15 years.
A bunch of other stuff I had previously thought of but forgot. Sports things will happen.
